Informed Consent - Note on EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy used to process distressing memories and experiences. It is recognised by NICE and the World Health Organisation for the treatment of trauma and PTSD.

During EMDR sessions you may experience strong emotions, physical sensations, or vivid memories as part of the processing. This is a normal part of the therapeutic process. Some clients find that processing continues between sessions, and you may notice thoughts, feelings or dreams arising in the days following a session.

EMDR is not recommended as a standalone intervention when psychosis, severe dissociation, or substance dependency is present. If any of these apply to you, please do not book EMDR sessions.
You are free to pause or stop a session at any time.

Entire Agreement

  • These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the client and the practitioner.
